This aspect of revival or re-purposing in a way reflects back to how different societies re-appropriate the artifacts of older cultures in new and creative ways. In essence the printer was transfigured to an object expressing architectural aspects and ideas, a sculpture to a tower or even to a city with a series of spaces. The transformation and redeployment of a single use printer to an alternative use of values that is associated with an architectonic phenomenon exhibiting ideas of formation and performance RE-purposed what was intended by the original tool maker. The beauty of the model will result from the form and the correspondence of the whole, with respect to the several parts and to the parts with regard to each other, where each element compliments the other and all are necessary to compose what is intended to form. Essentially, if everything fits together, everything has a purpose.

Held under the royal patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, UAE. The Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award supports, recognizes and promotes talented individuals of UAE both nationals and residents who have demonstrated exceptional artistic promise.
The competition aims to enrich the local cultural environment by providing opportunities of creative expression and thereby contributing to the artistic movement in the UAE.
The award is juried by a distinguished panel of industry professionals and senior practicing artists. All entries are submitted online and 50 art works are short listed for the exhibition and final judging process followed by the declaration of the winners at the Gala Awards Night ceremony.
Today, The Sheikha Manal’s Young Artist Award has emerged as UAE’s most important award competition for young emerging artists.
